The PBA pointed to a recent incident at Peebles Island State Park in which a convicted level 3 sex offender, who was just released from a 23 year prison term, harassed and menaced a woman and her young children while they were in the park.

Trooper Davis, 36, served the people of New York State with bravery and integrity. We will forever honor his service to New York and to his community. The PBA extends its deepest condolences to the family of slain officer Miosotis Familia

The PBA extends its deepest condolences to the NYPD and family of slain officer Miosotis Familia, who was fatally shot in an unprovoked attack early this morning in the Bronx. We are relieved that the suspect, who was fatally shot by responding officers after a foot chase, can no longer harm police officers or civilians, but this of course is still the saddest of occasions. When we obtain funeral arrangements as well as fundraising information for Officer Familia, who was a mother of 3, we will provide them on here. Again, this was an unprovoked attack with a shot to the head – an assassination in other words - on the officer as she was sitting in her patrol car completing a report. Be safe out there.
