Passing of Ranger Robbi Mecus

“The nearly 1,200 members of the PBA of New York State mourn the untimely passing of one of their own, New York State Forest Ranger Robbi Mecus, who suffered a tragic fall while scaling Mount Johnson in Denali National Park in Alaska this past weekend. Ranger Mecus had a distinguished 25-year career as a Forest Ranger, making a profound impact on the lives of those communing with our state’s unparalleled natural resources and lands - particularly those who found themselves in their hour of need due to the dangers of exploring New York’s majestic wilderness. Our members ask all New Yorkers to join us in praying for Ranger Mecus’s family, particularly Robbi’s 10-year old daughter, as well as Melissa Orzechowski who accompanied Robbi this past weekend and suffered traumatic injuries in the fall.”
