Testimonials
I was involved in a serious motor vehicle accident and received a quick response from my PBA representative. They checked my physical and mental well-being, followed by being put into contact with a union lawyer who made sure that I was represented and received my legal rights while the accident was being investigated. After the accident, my union representative checked in on me several times to see if I needed anything that the union could assist me with. The union seemed concerned for me, while my agency never checked on me at any time during or after my accident.
The PBA of New York State has given me a voice when advocating for the needs of our membership. Prior to the PBA of New York State, our members were controlled, and often forgotten, by a parent union who had no real interest in fighting for our members. After taking control of our own destiny, the PBA of New York State has won benefits for our members compared to other police unions and broadened our profile within the halls of the New York State Capitol. Without the support and hard work of our members, none of what the PBA of New York State has accomplished would have been possible.
- Peter BarryIt has been my privilege to be a member of the PBA of New York State since its inception in 2011. Representatives from the union are easy to get hold of and eager to respond. We just recently had an issue on our campus that was quickly addressed. Information on contracts and other union businesses is also readily available and easily accessible, via email and on the website.
- Benjamin A. MillerThe PBA of New York State has been very beneficial for my career as a police officer so far in keeping the communication between departments very efficient and making the job more attractive and stable. Even though this agency is still young and we have a long way to go in reaching our goal, the PBA will continue to take us in the right direction.
