Advocacy
Our policy priorities drive our work to ensure quality working conditions for police officers across New York, allowing them to perform their duties and protect their communities. By addressing policy solutions, we are supporting the success of our officers now and in the future.
POLICY AGENDA
PRIORITY #1
Achieve a fair and equal 20-year pension for all PBA members, reflective of the standard service requirement for most police and deputies in New York.
PRIORITY #2
Achieve the centralization of the New York State University Police, uniting control and dispatching of 29 separate police forces across SUNY campuses under one agency and commissioner.
PRIORITY #3
Restore the independent autonomy of the New York State Park Police by separating them from New York State Police oversight.
PRIORITY #4
Achieve fair and consistent annual funding for officer field equipment and personal protective gear, especially for the New York State Forest Rangers and the NYSDEC Environmental Conservation Police.
