STATEMENT FROM PETER BARRY, PRESIDENT OF THE PBA OF NEW YORK STATE REGARDING THE COLUMBIA COUNTY INCIDENT RESULTING IN THE INJURY OF AN ENVIRONMENTAL CONSERVATION OFFICER.
Late on Tuesday afternoon, James Davey a member of the PBA of New York State, and an on-duty Environmental Conservation officer in Columbia County, suffered a gunshot wound stemming from an investigation of shots fired in the area.

The union representing the New York State University Police is commending the state’s university police officers who received awards for heroism, service and lifetime achievements yesterday, Nov. 15. The SUNY Police Chiefs Association bestows the awards annually at a luncheon in Saratoga Springs.

We are shocked and saddened to hear of the tragic on-duty death of New York State Trooper Timothy Pratt, who was struck and killed by a passing car while assisting a motorist this morning. On behalf of the members of the PBA of NYS, we offer our deep and sincere condolences to his family, friends and colleagues as they mourn his passing, and celebrate his life and his service to the state.
