The PBA gives our condolences to the family of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Police Officer, Sean Collier of Somerville, who was shot and killed Thursday night, reportedly by the suspects believed to be responsible for the Boston Marathon bombings. We hope the police and other law enforcement personnel who are presently searching for the 2nd suspect, who is still at large, find him without any further loss of law enforcement or civilian life.
This terrible ordeal underscores for us that we are living in different and more dangerous times, and it is quite clear that policing is becoming more complicated and dangerous each and every day.
