Real-Time Action Update for 7/8/11

Friday, July 08, 2011

The PBA of New York State is rolling – literally. For the last three days we have traversed Upstate New York: Niagara Falls, Buffalo, Fredonia, Olean, Alfred, Brockport, Binghamton and Syracuse. That’s a lot of miles, but well worth it. ALES members are truly appreciative of the effort, opportunity and candor provided during these sessions.

Confidence in leadership is not the result of always having the precise or detailed answer to every question; it’s also about being willing to listen and let questions be asked.

Thank you to all of you who are participating. We know that work schedules and long-planned family commitments can make it difficult for everyone to attend these information sessions. However, turnout and enthusiasm have been terrific. Recaps of the information sessions can be found in the public News section.

Please note the new content on the Members Only section in particular the following BREAKING NEWS…

The PBA of New York State has been endorsed by Bernie Rivers, the former President of the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation Police Lieutenants Local 3810.

His letter declaring support for the PBA of New York State has been posted in the Members Only section.

In addition, you will also find recently disclosed information about Council 82’s huge payroll. It truly makes everyone who has reviewed it question the value of a largely invisible staff and their six-figure salaries.

We continue to add new content to the website on a regular basis so please check back often for important updates. Additionally, ALES members continue to sign up for Members Only access and we’re closing in on 500 registered users!

Upon receipt of your ballot – which is being mailed on July 18 -- we are encouraging each of you to carefully read the instructions which accompany it, and to respond immediately to ensure that your voice, and vote, determines your future.

The countdown to independence continues – 10 days to go.

Be safe and have a great weekend.
