PBA of New York State Law Enforcement Announces NY State Legislature Endorsements

Thursday, August 02, 2018

The Police Benevolent Association of New York State Law Enforcement (PBA of NYS) has announced its first endorsements for the 2018 elections in the New York State Legislature.

The PBA of NYS Law Enforcement represents New York State University Police, the New York State Environmental Conservation Police, the New York State Park Police, and the New York State Forest Rangers.

“Our union representing some 1200 state agency police officers gives serious and thoughtful consideration of each candidate and his or her policy positions especially as they relate to the law enforcement community,” said PBA of NYS President Peter Barry. “It is the belief of our members that these candidates share our goals to protect the public and the environment on state property, including universities, parks, waterways and wilderness areas, and that is why we are giving them our full endorsement.”

The process for selecting candidates includes face-to-face interviews, questionnaires and other elements such as voting records, bill sponsorship and general support on issues deemed important to PBA of NYS members.
