Nicknamed “The Fitz” DEC’s Largest Vessel Is Docked In Albany

The boat, named after DEC Lt. John Fitzpatrick, normally patrols the waters downstate in New York City. The crew puts it to work to detect environmental issues for the city, the state and Homeland Security. It's passing through the Capital Region on the way to a training exercise on Lake Champlain.
This Large vessel is not only fast, but can also detect radiation and chemical threats.
