Forest Rangers Rescue 4 Lost Teens in Warren County

Forest Rangers rescued four 16-year-old hikers who had been lost for nearly six hours Friday near Hackensack Mountain, the state Department of Environmental Conservation said.
Warren County 911 dispatchers alerted the DEC to the missing teens at 6:43 p.m. Sept. 29. The group said they did not have lights, water or food, and their only cell phone was dying. Their call dropped off before the dispatcher could get more information. Rangers launched an extensive search of Hackensack Mountain, covering the ridge trail, the summit and all the town park trails, and found nothing.
