Forest Rangers Rescue Fallen Ice Climber

Faced with wintery conditions, rescue crews had to rope themselves in while climbing the mountain to reach 41-year-old Calum Stewart of Syracuse. Unable to use a helicopter because of weather conditions, rescuers had to use high-angle rope rescue techniques to lower Stewart down the mountain to safety.  The PBA congratulates the the 15 Forest Rangers, as well as those who assisted in including an Environmental Conservation Police Officer, members of the Keene Valley Volunteer Fire Department and members of SARNAK (Search and Rescue of the Northern Adirondacks) for their courageous efforts. (READ MORE)
