Forest rangers rescued two New York City rock climbers on Rogers Rock in the dark Sunday night.

Rogers Rock is a popular and scenic slab that rises from Lake George in the town of Hague in Warren County.

State Park Police Officers awarded with highest civilian honors of the state

Two heroes were awarded Tuesday with the highest civilian honors that a state resident can receive.

State Park Police Officers John J. Friot Jr., 36, and Dustin T. Lottie, 33, were each presented with a New York State Liberty Award by State Senator Patty Ritchie at the Dobisky Visitor’s Center, 100 Riverside Ave.

PBA Members involved in search that ended with discovery of suspect’s body

PBA members from the New York State Environmental Conservation Police, the New York State Park Police, and the New York State Forest Rangers participated in the manhunt for a man wanted for murder on Long Island.

The search was called off on Monday when the man’s body was found in the Hudson River with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the mouth.  PBA members diligently assisted in the search for this suspect, who was considered armed and dangerous, and we are glad no other civilians were injured prior to this search ending.
